Nurse appreciates jump start

Candice Hall couldn't wait to finish high school before she started training to be a nurse.   So she left her twin sister Cassie at Felicity Franklin High School, enrolled in Grant Career Center and began an allied health pathway that has led to employment as a nurse at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. "I love my job.  I couldn't be happier, she says. Everything is just how I want it. "

Enrolling in College Tech Prep enabled Candice to accelerate her education by combining college prep academics with project-based experience.

She participated in a full slate of athletic and leadership activities, while learning side-by-side with experienced professionals in hospitals and health care facilities.

Candice credits Tech Prep for exposing her to expanded opportunities including scholarships that subsidized the expense of a 2003 UC Clermont College degree.  At age 23 she is a registered nurse, earning a salary that far exceeds wages of her unskilled peers.

College Tech Prep programs emphasize academics and skills essential for high demand employment. Students may enter college with advanced standing or college credits earned for high school technology programs.
