Crosswalking Tools

The seamless pathway starts when academic, technical and occupational experiences at both the high school and college level are detailed, defined and matched with curriculum competencies. This process is called crosswalking. Crosswalking, or curriculum mapping:

  • supports long-term planning
  • identifies competency gaps, overlaps and redundancies
  • identifies possible points of integration between academic and career-technical courses

Competencies are crosswalked to determine whether they belong to the high school or college level and to decide where and how they fit into existing courses.
